Q. What is digital surface design?

This is the design of digital patterns which are ready to be printed seamlessly to a variety of  'surfaces' like fabric, wallpaper, stationery, crockery, packaging, etc.

 

Q. What copyright options exist on a Design Kist digital pattern?

Designs can be purchased with either exclusive or non-exclusive copyright. If exclusive copyright is purchased, the design is sold to only one buyer, while non-exclusive designs are sold repeatedly to multiple buyers. Both options give full commercial rights for the design to be used in any way on any surface.

 

 Q. If I buy a digital design, can I resize and recolour it?

Designs can be resized, recoloured and edited after purchase.

 

Q. Is it possible to use the same design on more than one surface?  

Yes, digital designs can be resized and applied to a variety of surfaces like wallpaper and fabric, crockery, tiles, packaging and stationery, to name a few.

 

Q. I've seen a design I like in your digital pattern gallery, can you print it onto wallpaper or fabric for me?

Yes. Contact us to have a digital pattern "brought to life" by ordering it printed onto wallpaper or fabric. 

Q. Do you create customised designs?

We create custom designs for fabric, wallpaper, stationery and a variety of surfaces. We  create co-ordinating designs for example, stripes, checks or polka dots, to work with existing designs, whether from the Design Kist gallery or independently sourced. 

Commissioned designs are viewed in a password protected gallery on our site. We design to your requirements and can also oversee the print production of your design onto fabric or wallpaper. For custom production, samples are first approved by the buyer before the order is printed.
